Executive Chef Gunnar Thompson

Executive Chef Gunnar Thompson joins Glenmere Mansion Fall 2015 after being chef at some of the most prestigious restaurants worldwide. Among his many culinary accomplishments, he was awarded the prestigious Taittinger “2012 Grand Chef of the Year” for Relais & Chateaux worldwide, being designated a Relais & Chateaux “Grand Chef” in 2011, 2012 and 2013. During those years, he was executive chef for the renowned Erna’s Elderberry House, the restaurant at the esteemed Relais & Chateaux hotel, Chateau du Sureau in Yosemite, CA, named by Zagat the #1 hotel-restaurant in the San Francisco Bay area. In addition, he has held a Mobil/Forbes 5-Star and AAA 5-Diamond recognition. Prior to his arrival at Glenmere, he was the executive chef at Primland Resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. There he was named by Michelle Obama and Epicurious “celebrity chef” for “Healthy Kids Initiative” and additionally named a “Top 10 Chef” in Virginia. During his esteemed career he has been associated with some of the world’s leading restaurants, including 3-Michelin Star restaurant, La Pyramide in Vienne, France.

Pastry Chef Hanah Ordaz

Hanah Ordaz our Glenmere Pastry Chef joins us with a rich background in international cuisine for both the banquet and wedding industry. She graduated from The Art Institute of Houston, earning a degree in International Cuisine, which laid the foundation for her culinary journey.

Dedicating herself to the banquet and wedding industry, Hanah honed her skills in cake decorating and dessert creation, catering to large parties.

Hanah's talent led her to play a pivotal role in establishing pastry programs in several prestigious hotels and private clubs, including pastry programs at the JW Marriott Hotel and Lakewood Yacht Club in Houston, TX.

Hanah Ordaz brings to Glenmere Mansion her fresh and inspired vision to the world of pastries. She is excited to continue her culinary journey, creating exquisite pastries that delight the senses and elevate the dining experience.
